Patellofemoral Malalignment

Abstract: This 27 year old male had had increasing bilateral medial knee pain over the last two years with the right knee being worse than the left. After a comprehensive physical therapy examination which included a motion analysis assessment, it was determined that the patient had bilateral patellofemoral malalignment. Customized orthotics which used both rearfoot and forefoot posting allowed this patient to resume his running program.

Long Thoracic Nerve Palsy

Abstract: This 27 year old male with diagnosis of right thoracic nerve palsy with serratus muscle weakness was referred to physical therapy for evaluation and treatment. At the time of his injury, he was employed as a delivery truck driver for a beverage supply company. Seven months after injury he feels his functionality has returned to about 95 percent.

Lateral Epicondylitis

Abstract: Occupationally aquired lateral epicondylitis is the focus of this case study. The patient is a 43 year old female who is employed as an electronics assembler with one year history of left lateral epicondylitis. The evaluation and treatment of the patient is presented as well as patient literature that is relevant to the clinical situation.

Shoulder Impingement

Abstract: A 68 year old female who is retired presents with a one and a half year history of progressive left shoulder pain and limited range of joint motion. A review of the salient literature as well as the physical therapy evaluation and treatment results are presented in this case study.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Rehabilitation

Abstract: On November 28, 1994 this 35 year old male tore his right anterior cruciate ligament while playing basketball. The semitendinosis tendon was used as a graft for the anterior cruciate ligament. Six weeks after accelerated rehabilitation, the patient was ambulating without an assistive device and also without a knee brace for activities of daily living.
